Tungsten Alloy Artillery Counterweight

1. What's Tungsten Alloy Artillery Counterweight?
Tungsten alloy artillery counterweight is mass-balancing component for artillery elevating structures, rotating structures, and related moving assemblies. By concentrating the required mass, CTIA's tungsten alloy counterweight adjusts mass distribution, center of gravity, and moment of inertia to meet structural balancing and assembly requirements.
2. Features of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Artillery Counterweight
(1) High Density, Compact Size: Density of 16.5–18.8 g/cm³ allows the required mass to be concentrated in a smaller volume, making it suitable for compact installation spaces such as the rear of the gun barrel, cradle, and inside the turret.
(2) High Strength, Impact and Vibration Resistance: Tensile strength of 700–1050 MPa and hardness of 25–35 HRC enable the counterweight to withstand the impact generated by chamber pressure and recoil vibration during firing.
(3) Precise Counterweighting, Reduced Servo Load: Proper mass placement balances the gravity moment caused by the front-heavy configuration of long-barrel artillery, reducing the electrical and hydraulic drive power required by the attitude adjustment mechanism.
(4) Flexible Structures, Easy Precision Installation: Available forms include tungsten alloy blocks, plates, rods, rings, screws, and irregular parts, with holes, slots, threads, and locating surfaces machined to meet the assembly requirements of mechanical components.
(5) Selectable Material Systems, Diverse Equipment Requirements: The W-Ni-Fe system offers high strength and good mechanical properties for land-based and naval artillery systems, while the W-Ni-Cu system has a lower magnetic response for fire-control terminals equipped with electromagnetic sensors or operating in environments with higher electromagnetic requirements.
3. Applications of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Artillery Counterweight
(1) Artillery Elevating Structures: Used for balancing mass and adjusting the center of gravity in cradles, breeches, and related moving structures, supporting counterweight installation in gun elevation mechanisms.
(2) Artillery Rotating Structures: Used for mass distribution and center-of-gravity adjustment in turrets and related rotating structures, making it suitable for counterweight installation on rotating components.
(3) Vehicle-Mounted and Self-Propelled Artillery: Used for balancing the mass of artillery moving structures and related components, supporting overall mass distribution together with the vehicle-mounted platform.
(4) Naval Artillery Systems: Used in naval artillery cradles, turrets, and related moving structures, meeting the installation space and mass distribution requirements of shipborne equipment.
