1. What's Tungsten Alloy Reaction Wheel Counterweight?
Tungsten alloy reaction wheel counterweight is high-specific-gravity tungsten alloy mass-adjustment component installed on a reaction wheel rotor or balancing structure. Reaction wheel generates reaction torque by changing the rotor speed, while the rotor's mass distribution affects its rotational balance and operating stability. CTIA's tungsten alloy reaction wheel counterweight adjusts the rotor's mass distribution, moment of inertia, and center-of-gravity position to correct dynamic balance and reduce vibration caused by rotational imbalance.

2. Features of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Reaction Wheel Counterweight
(1) High Density for Compact Counterweight: Density is approximately 16.5–18.8 g/cm³, providing the required mass in a smaller volume and making it suitable for reaction wheel structures with limited internal space.
(2) Flexible Center-of-Gravity Adjustment for Better Dynamic Balance: The counterweight's mass, dimensions, and installation position can be adjusted according to the rotor structure to correct the center of gravity, moment of inertia, and dynamic balance.
(3) Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion for Stable Assembly: The coefficient of thermal expansion is approximately 4.4–5.5 × 10⁻⁶/K, resulting in small dimensional changes with temperature variations and helping maintain a stable assembly relationship between the counterweight and rotor.
(4) High Tensile Strength for High-Speed Rotation: Tensile strength typically reaches 700–1200 MPa, allowing the counterweight to withstand centrifugal loads and vibration during reaction wheel rotation.
(5) Selectable Magnetic Properties for Sensitive Environments: W-Ni-Cu is non-magnetic and suitable for magnetically sensitive equipment, while W-Ni-Fe has a magnetic response and is suitable for general counterweight applications.

3. Applications of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Reaction Wheel Counterweight
(1) Satellites: Used in reaction wheel and momentum wheel rotors of small satellites and conventional satellites to adjust rotor mass distribution, moment of inertia, and dynamic balance.
(2) Spacecraft: Used in reaction wheel rotors and Control Moment Gyroscope (CMG) rotors to correct mass distribution and moment of inertia and reduce imbalance-induced vibration during high-speed rotation.
(3) Deep-Space Exploration and Space Stations: Used in attitude control actuators of deep-space probes, space stations, and other spacecraft designed for long-term operation to adjust and balance reaction wheel rotor mass properties.
