Tungsten Alloy Attitude Control Counterweight

1. What's Tungsten Alloy Attitude Control Counterweight?
Tungsten alloy attitude control counterweight is high-specific-gravity component containing 90%–97% tungsten with nickel, iron, or copper, produced through powder metallurgy for mass adjustment in satellite, spacecraft, UAV, and missile attitude control systems. CTIA's tungsten alloy attitude control counterweight combines high density and compact size, allowing mass distribution, moment of inertia, and center of gravity to be adjusted through counterweight mass and installation position. It is used in momentum wheels, control moment gyroscopes, flywheels, and structural balancing systems.
2. Features of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Attitude Control Counterweight
(1) High Density, Concentrated Mass: Density is approximately 16.5–18.5 g/cm³, allowing the required mass to be concentrated within relatively small structural dimensions for compact attitude control mechanisms.
(2) Low Thermal Expansion, Dimensional Stability: The coefficient of linear thermal expansion is approximately 4.4–5.5×10⁻⁶/K. Small dimensional changes caused by temperature variations help maintain stable installation position and mass properties.
(3) High Strength, Vibration Resistance: Tensile strength can typically reach 700–1200 MPa, allowing the counterweight to withstand mechanical loads generated by launch, vibration, shock, and high-speed rotation.
(4) Magnetic Property Options, Application Flexibility: W-Ni-Fe is suitable for general structural counterweights, while W-Ni-Cu is non-magnetic and suitable for locations near magnetometers, magnetic torque devices, and other magnetically sensitive equipment.
(5) Vacuum Stability, Low Outgassing: The material maintains good stability in vacuum environments. With appropriate surface treatment and cleanliness control, it can be used for spacecraft components with stringent vacuum-environment requirements.
(6) Flexible Machining, Precision Assembly: Turning, milling, grinding, and drilling can be used to machine holes, slots, steps, complex curved surfaces, and other structural features, meeting the installation and assembly requirements of different attitude control mechanisms.
3. Applications of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Attitude Control Counterweight
CTIA's tungsten alloy attitude control counterweight is mainly used for attitude control, inertial control, and motion balancing in aircraft, with applications including:
(1) Satellites: Used to adjust mass properties in attitude control systems, inertial measurement devices, and onboard equipment, including center of gravity, moment of inertia, and dynamic balance.
(2) Spacecraft: Used to adjust mass distribution in cabin sections, equipment mounting structures, and motion mechanisms, helping maintain overall balance and attitude stability.
(3) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs): Used in airframes, flight control mechanisms, gimbals, and moving components to adjust center-of-gravity position and dynamic balance during flight.
(4) Missiles: Used in guidance systems, inertial components, control surfaces, and other moving components to adjust mass distribution and dynamic balance.
