Tungsten Alloy Transmission Counterweight

1. What's Tungsten Alloy Transmission Counterweight?
Tungsten alloy transmission counterweight is mass-balancing component for transmissions and drivetrain systems, typically made from W-Ni-Fe or W-Ni-Cu tungsten alloy containing 90%–97% tungsten. CTIA's tungsten alloy transmission counterweight provides substantial mass within a compact volume and is mainly installed on rotating components such as gears and transmission shafts to adjust mass distribution and dynamic balance, reducing vibration and noise and supporting stable drivetrain operation.
2. Why Use Tungsten Alloy Counterweights for Transmissions?
(1) Configure Greater Mass in Limited Space: Tungsten alloy typically has a density of 16.5–18.8 g/cm³, allowing greater counterweight mass to be concentrated within a small installation volume and meeting the mass configuration requirements of compact transmission structures.
(2) Improve Dynamic Balance of High-Speed Rotating Components: High-speed rotation of gears and transmission shafts can generate unbalanced forces and moments when local mass distribution varies. Adjusting counterweight mass and mounting position helps optimize mass distribution and reduce vibration and noise caused by rotational imbalance.
(3) Withstand Vibration and Cyclic Loads: W-Ni-Fe tungsten alloy can have tensile strength above 700 MPa and offers good strength and hardness, enabling the counterweight to withstand continuous vibration, centrifugal forces, and cyclic loads during drivetrain operation while maintaining structural stability.
(4) Maintain Stable Mass Position During Temperature Changes: Tungsten alloy typically has a coefficient of thermal expansion of approximately 4.5–5.5 × 10⁻⁶/K, resulting in relatively small dimensional changes with temperature variations and helping maintain the counterweight's installed position and rotational balance.
(5) Maintain Stability During Long-Term Operation: Tungsten alloy offers good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and environmental stability, supporting long-term operation under conditions involving lubricating oil, continuous vibration, and temperature variations.
3. Applications of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Transmission Counterweight
(1) Automotive: Used for rotating components such as gears and shafts in manual transmissions, automatic transmissions, and dual-clutch transmissions to adjust local mass distribution and improve drivetrain dynamic balance.
(2) Commercial Vehicles and Construction Machinery: Used in heavy-duty transmissions and drivetrain systems for mass compensation under continuous vibration and high mechanical loads, helping maintain stable operation of transmission components.
(3) New Energy Vehicle: Used in electric-drive transmissions, reducers, and high-speed rotating components to configure substantial mass within compact structures and adjust mass distribution and dynamic balance.
(4) Industrial Gearboxes: Used in high-speed gearboxes, reducers, and other transmission equipment to adjust rotating-component mass distribution, improve rotational balance, and reduce unbalanced vibration during operation.
(5) Aerospace: Used in transmission mechanisms with demanding requirements for mass configuration, space utilization, and rotational balance, with counterweight structures designed according to rotating component geometry and mounting positions.
(6) Special-Purpose Vehicles and Equipment: Used in transmissions and drivetrain mechanisms operating under specific conditions, with counterweight configurations adapted to equipment mass distribution, installation space, and vibration-control requirements.
