Tungsten Alloy Rod Counterweight

1. What's Tungsten Alloy Rod Counterweight?
Tungsten alloy rod counterweight is rod-shaped mass-balancing component made using tungsten as the matrix and nickel-iron or nickel-copper as the binder phase, mainly used for mass compensation, center-of-gravity adjustment, rotational balancing, and moment-of-inertia control. CTIA's tungsten alloy rod counterweight combines high density and strength of tungsten alloy for concentrated mass distribution with the compact, easy-to-install rod structure, making it suitable for space-constrained equipment components requiring mass configuration and structural balance in automotive, aerospace, robotics, and precision equipment.
2. Features of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Rod Counterweight
(1) High Density for Small-Volume Counterweighting: Density is approximately 16.5–18.8 g/cm³, about 2.1–2.4 times that of ordinary steel (7.85 g/cm³) and 1.5–1.7 times that of lead (11.34 g/cm³). Under the same counterweight mass, tungsten alloy reduces the required volume, making it suitable for structural designs with limited internal equipment space.
(2) Relatively High Strength with Mechanical Load-Bearing Capability: Offers relatively high strength and hardness. Typical tensile strength of W-Ni-Fe alloy is about 700–1000 MPa, and the minimum tensile strength of some standard grades reaches 689–758 MPa. Combined with high density, it meets counterweight needs under certain mechanical motion, vibration and fixed-installation environments.
(3) Rod Structure Suitable for Narrow and Long Space Installation: The round rod structure facilitates installation in equipment holes, sleeves and axial spaces. Diameter, length and quantity can be adjusted according to installation position to concentrate counterweight mass at designated locations.
(4) Adjustable Mass Distribution for Balance Control: By changing the length, quantity, installation position of the counterweight rod and its distance from the rotation axis, local mass distribution can be adjusted for center-of-gravity correction, static balance, dynamic balance and moment-of-inertia control.
(5) Precision Machining and Structural Customization: Diameter, length, end structure and machining features can be customized according to target mass, installation space and fixing method. Holes, slots, threads, steps and chamfers can be machined to meet installation and assembly requirements of different counterweight components.
3. Applications of CTIA's Tungsten Alloy Rod Counterweight
(1) Automotive and Racing: Used in engines, transmission systems, rotating components, chassis and suspension systems.
(2) Aerospace: Used in flight control mechanisms, actuators, rotating components, inertial systems and precision motion parts.
(3) Robotics and Automation: Used in robot joints, robotic arms, servo mechanisms, actuators and motion modules.
(4) Precision Machinery: Used in precision rotating mechanisms, motion platforms, measuring instruments and balancing mechanisms.
(5) Industrial Equipment: Used in motor rotors, rotating mechanisms, vibration equipment and mass balance components.
